After installing the Amazon hack for Movable Type and testing it, I set about altering it to operate with Amazon UK. Now that it works fine with UK ASIN numbers, I figured I'd jump right onto the tutorial to set up a little review section. Everything's gone fine, except that when using [MTEntryMore] as specified in the tutorial, the ASIN number I've placed into the Extended Entry field isn't included in the output. Thinking it was just something I'd done with the number, I replaced the [MTEntryMore] tag with the actual number itself, and it worked like a charm. So now I'm just stuck with the fact that using the [MTEntryMore] tag and extended entry method doesn't appear to work for me.
Tutorial specifies this in the mtamazon tag: QUOTE <MTAmazon method="Asin" search="[MTEntryMore]"> - results in no MTAmazon output to the entry whatsoever. Testing the code with the ASIN number directly, this code becomes: QUOTE <MTAmazon method="Asin" search="B00004CZU4"> - works perfectly. This is all going on here Any suggestions on what I'm doing wrong? I'm new to using MTAmazon, and have been surfing to find the solution since last night, but so far I haven't figured out what the problem is. It's probably staring me right in the face, but does anyone have any idea what could be wrong with my code? -------------------- 'All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us.'

What do you have your Text Formatting set as? Convert Line Breaks? Because that might be what's causing this. It would add <p> tags around the number if you have it set to anything but None.
As you can see on my own site, I'm using Amazon UK as well, that's not the problem here. But you gotta make sure that either the Text Formatting for the entry is set to None, or that you add this to the MTEntryMore tag: CODE <$MTEntryMore convert_breaks="0"$> If you choose to set the Text Formatting to None, then you have to turn on Convert Line Breaks for the normal entry body so your review shows up properly (this is the method I'm using): CODE <$MTEntryBody convert_breaks="1"$> That should fix your problem! -------------------- |

*sniffle* And I got so hopeful just then too
Tried both and neither appears to work. The MTAmazon tag doesn't appear to be getting processed at all without the asin number making it to the output I've been beating my head against various brick walls for the last few hours, because everywhere I look, I see that this version of mtamazon is supposed to process MT tags in its attributes just fine :s. -------------------- 'All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us.'

Okay, and a few minutes later after a complete overhaul, deleting the pages, the cache for MTAmazon and even the plugin itself, I reinstall and rebuild everything from scratch and it appears to be working fine now. 'Scuse me while my jaw hits the floor!
Many thanks for your help Sasha -------------------- 'All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us.'

Glad you figured it out! Sometimes you do need to delete the cache for this to work.
